I'm new to pro cameras so this was literally the cheapest lens I could buy for the 7D I bought (from GMP) at the same time. I wanted something to shoot with until I was more familiar with the camera and until I make up my mind on what lenses I really want. I've since bought a Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6L IS USM lens and will be buying a few more besides to cover the shorter focal lengths.

Very impressed with the communication and tracking from the moment of ordering to delivery (by UPS). Really adds a level of confidence. The product arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition pretty much when GMP said it would.
The image quality is just as has been objectively described in many pro reviews elsewhere. The array of features is extensive and overwhelming at first if you've only used consumer-grade cameras before. My camera was sourced in Japan and came with menus set to Japanese. It would be handy if the camera had a first-boot language selection but it doesn't. If you need to change the language you'll need to follow the user guide counting menus and rows to find the option to change.
The battery charger that came with the camera was the style with the directly attached [US] pins (they fold-away when travelling) so I had to buy an adapter (Australian in my case) that would also allow the charger body to sit flush against it in use.
It is a true 21st century camera with remote control of most features plus image download via USB to a PC or laptop out of the box (software provided). Other remote control options are BlueTooth, ethernet or WiFi, both of which require optional hardware to operate.
One of the reasons you may be considering this camera is it's video capability. I bought the camera for both stills and as a static second video camera for shallower DOF and my plan has always been to buy a full HD video camera as well. Several pro reviews said that zooming and refocus will be very difficult during video shooting with this camera, and that is very true. You probably won't be able to do good follow-action style videoing out of the box if it requires either. I also plan to buy an eye-piece to go over the LCD display (Zacuto make one called the Z-finder IIRC), otherwise IMO shooting and focusing out-doors will be too hit-and-miss (naturally you can't use the camera's own view-finder in video mode).

Deux seuls petits défauts dans la composition de l'esthétique et de la manipulation de la caméra: le câble du micro du son d'ambiance aurait pu être invisible en l' incrustant dans le corps de la caméra, rendant ainsi l'accès des diverses fonctions situées tout le long de ce câble du micro qui gêne en permanence le passage de la main dans ses environs.
Dans l'ensemble je suis très ravi d'avoir acheté cette caméra.

After searching the internet for a ENG mic i soon came accros this one. It seems you can hammer a nail in wall with this and still get good audio. I haven't tried that but I am very happy with it. Excellent audio and sturdy mic.

I purchased this to go with my EX1R, and i have had problems with the SKP 100 G3 plug-on transmitter
since. You can connect it on a microphone but mine goes on and off at random. No really handy when you are interviewing someone. No problems with the receiver or the bodypack transmitter. Very nice quality if it works.

Very nice product, I bought it about 2 months ago. I have worked with Z5 before, but the EX1R is much better, a lot of options and very nice picture quality, even when the light is poor. Love to work tapeless. I had it shipped to Holland, no problems here.

We have used this powerblock for a few weeks now on our XDcam F330 and it surely does what it has to do: To supply enough power for an average day ENG shooting.
It also makes a good counterbalance to the camera's wide angle lens.
