This microhone performs well in picking up choir voices from a distance &
as a single mic. where it is not easy or desirable to provide individual
mics. The hyper position gives better directivity to reduce feedback.
Sound is clean & from its specs would also handle much higher sound
levels than we are using. Other points All metal body is robust. M107
requires an AA cell & does not use phantom. I have measured the batty
current at 0.75mA & will flatten in 3 months or so if the switch is left
on continuously. Although it has Cannon 3 pin XLR it is not truly
balanced as one side is connected to the metal case. We are not having a
problem with this provided we use 2 wire balanced mic cable & balanced
mixer input BUT you must disable phantom power otherwise it will be
shorted to ground when the mic. is connected. I guess the more expensive
Gmp shotgun provides the phantom & balanced outputbut this one has
performed well for us since August 2008
