Excellent performance coupled with my Sony HVR-Z5 camera. I have found that Mini DV tapes are prone to failure at crucial times so this reliable little unit has been an amazing accessory and well worth the purchase. I now use tapes as my backup only. Whether quickly loading direct to a computer hard drive for editing or playing via firewire to a DVD recorder in real time, this unit is an absolute winner. I would recommend it to anyone. Wish I had bought it much earlier.

Very good unit, does what it supposed to do. Very easy to use and is a huge time saver when importing footage to your computer. My only regret is that I should have got one of these a long time ago. I will be getting my second one for my other camera soon. Highly recommend the Sony HVR-MRC1K. I’ve been using it with Sandisk Extreme 32GB 60MB/s CF cards with my Sony Z5 and hasn’t missed a beat. Just love it!

I bought this to my HVR-A1E, and think its a very good product.
I bought it together with Kingstone 16GB x133 cards, and it works very good! No problems!
Only thing I did'nt like, was that the CF-cards and the Recorder where shipped in 2 shipments, wich means that I recived the cards 1 week before the recorder came (FedEx was fast, and the other slow)...
But all together, very pleased with GlobalmediaPro

I have used this recorder for a couple of months now with my sony
HVR-S270E, and I'm verry impressed by it. I use 32 gig 133x kingston
memmory cards with fit perfectly in the device. (used several different
cards already so I don't know what the other guy was talking about.)
Recording in HDV and DV is no problem at all. Capturing to pc in just a
few minutes in stead of the full tape length.

Very good idea and big help. But! That who will want to use a memory map
of other corporation, be are cautious it can not to approach. The slot
cover can not be closed. This Recording Unit wishes only the Sony
memory-cards !!!
